A New Discovery
I can't remember how I found this blog but I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it with everyone. I'm afraid I don't know the artist's full name but her blog is called The Morning Glory Vine. Here are a couple pictures of her work taken from her blog. I just love the colours she's used on these sculptures.

Not a Complete Waste of a Day
Well Today wasn't a complete waste. I did manage to finish two of my projects. I made two paper mache heart ornaments. I'm very happy with how they turned out. The first top pink heart and the purple heart are the same ornament, just different sides and the second pink heart and the blue heart are the two sides of the second heart ornament. I've put these two ornaments up on my Etsy shop so I hope everyone else likes them as much as I do.
A Lazy Lazy Day
I've had an incredibly lazy day today so I'm still feeling a bit blah. I knew I should at least post something but because I'm feeling so lazy, this is going to be a quick one. Here is a mosaic of some fabulous dog paintings by Ron Krajewski. If you'd like to see more from this artist or would like a portrait of your pet visit www.ronkrajewski.com.

Enchanted Dolls
I'm not a huge fan of dolls but when I stumbled onto The Enchanted Doll I instantly fell in love. If you haven't seen these dolls before you're in for a treat. These are so much more then dolls, they're all tiny works of art. The artist is Marina Bychkova who I believe resides in Vancouver BC. She will be showing her personal collection of Enchanted Dolls in a local gallery/shop called Dragonspace on Granville Island, Vancouver, BC. The show will be open February 6th until March 6th, 2010. Hopefully I will be able to make the trip down to see them in person. Here are just a few pictures but if you want to see more from this artist visit The Enchanted Doll.

Brightly Coloured Creatures
While puttering around on Etsy I happen to stumble onto some beautiful art from an artist I hadn't seen before. I was instantly attracted to the bright colours used. The different patterns and shapes all seem to fit together perfectly, creating unique birds, fish, and animals. If you want to see more from this artist visit Brooke Connor Designs or check out her shop on Etsy.

A Gift From My Sister
My sister made this for me years ago just after we bought our two lovebirds. She didn't know it at the time but the bird she painted looks exactly like our female lovebird. My sister, Kim Naumann or Curiouser and Curiouser Designs, creates the most wonderful art. She's always been a natural when comes to anything artsy.

Playing with Pictures
I was playing around with my husbands fancy camera and this is what I came out with. As you can see I just love boston terriers. Someday I will adopt my very own but for now these guys will have to do. The dog sitting on the mat was hand made and given to me by my mom when I went out to visit them in Nova Scotia. I picked up the tall dog on the same trip but from St.John's, NF. My husband spotted him in an old antique shop sitting up on an old cabinet all by himself. He looked so lonely I knew I had to take him home with me. The dog in the middle was also given to me by my mom. She found him hidden away in the attic of their old (but new to them) farm house during renovations. I wonder who left him there?
Oh How I Wish I Had a Craft Room
Someday I hope to have a house big enough that I can have my own craft room. This mosaic shows just a few of the pictures I've collected for inspiration. Right now I have to work on all my projects while sitting on the kitchen floor. We just don't have room any where else in our tiny home for me to work on them. Some day I will have my room and I will paint the walls lovely colours and fill it with pretty things.

Our Tiny Home
Currently my husband and I are living in a 400 sq.ft. studio. We're on a waitlist to buy a home in Beautiful Whistler, BC. Until that day comes, we'll stay in our tiny studio. The first picture was taken from out bed which is right against the wall so you can imagine how small the room is. Atleast we know we have somewhere to live during the 2010 Winter Olympics as so many renters in our area are getting the boot. Unfortunately for some tenats owners want to rent out their suites for big bucks during the olympics which meens kicking the current tenants out. .
Placemat Pillow Cases
I'm not very good at sewing so I was quite proud when I managed to turn some placemats into pillow covers. I even figured out how to sew in a zipper. While sewing zippers may not seem like much of a challenge for most, for someone like myself who can't sew a straight line, it's something to be proud of ;)
